The story of me, Wow! Where do I start? Was I born with a gypsy soul, was I born with the love of old stuff , and is the hunt a complete high for me? I have been asked these questions many a time and I suppose the answer has to be yes to all of them. The love of junk and finding old things is definitely in my blood and a complete passion! AS I reflect back to my childhood, I remember going to my great grandmother’s (Granny B) estate sale and thinking dang why can’t I keep all of this stuff? I also remember that I used to love to go to my grandparents and pilfer through drawers, closets and if I got really lucky that day, the barn or shed. I was always searching for something….. just not really knowing what I was looking for, back then it was called plundering!!
The passion for “plundering” has continued through the years to lead me here and to my latest adventure, Resurrect Antiques! I started the business in May, 2009, when I lost my job of 15 years. Junking had always been a hobby of mine so I felt no better time or choice to make it a career. I started out in Antique stores and traveling doing antique shows for three years before I actually opened the store in 2009. I had always dreamed of owning my own store so I just did it, like I do many things on impulse (especially impulse buying LOL) and guess what it worked! Dreams are the seedlings of our Reality!
As doors continue to open and close at times, I’ve realized that the creative vision that I represent at Resurrect are a small portion of the blessings of God’s generosity. Resurrect reflects the celebratio
n of gratitude as the journey(search) for our purpose(something), is found. The rustic, reclaimed, resurrected, revival, and rejuvenation are declarations made as we began uncovering our discovery. My intention is to carry a message of inspiration as we are faced with life’s crossroad: continuing our search, in hopes of finding…..something.
I hope to leave this life as being a little candle in everyone’s life. I may burn out and melt after a little while. But, I wish within that time my light touches your heart- even for a little while!
God has given gifts to each of you from his great variety of spiritual gifts.
Manage them well so that God’s generosity can flow through you.
