Books are one of our favorite go to decor items! And they are often overlooked. The great thing is that most of us have books sitting around the house getting dusty when we could be putting them to good use! Use books to add texture, height, color, or even as a great way to just fill space. And if your books don’t have pretty covers or a coordinated look try painting them, covering them in fabric, brown paper, burlap or even tearing off the covers! The possibilities are endless! We’ve gathered a few of our favorite images from around the web to hopefully give you a few ideas!

We just absolutely love that vintage decorating isn’t one size fits all. Have you noticed that the word “vintage” encompasses a wide variety of styles and …….Stuff? The thing that all vintage decorating has in common and the main thing that draws us is the stories. Every item has a story, is one of a kind. Vintage decorating allows for instant character and charm. We feel its one of the fastest ways to add your personality to your home.
Over the next few weeks we would like to do a little series here on the different styles of vintage decorating…….we hope you can find your vintage voice!

The combination of vintage and modern construction materials and appliances are perfectly balanced to create a warm and inviting vintage space. We love how Becky used the warm tones of the butcher block countertops from Ikea, rusty elements, and well loved upcycled wood against a clean white backdrop. The combination of new cabinets and a vintage island, and the vintage columns by the farmhouse sink are a perfect touch and serve as a beautiful focal point. All of these elements combine very successfully to bring character and functionality to a very important space.
